The 9 Core Principles of Living on Purpose to Live Your Best Life™ Ever

Principle-Based Living Produces the Best Life Possible

Principles are fundamental concepts or laws that are universal in nature and application. Actions based on principles produce predictable results. Many of these principles were used since ancient times and are still being used by people who achieved greatness and success.

You know very well that natural phenomena are governed by natural laws and principles. They are sure and inviolable. If you drop an apple in mid air, it will surely drop to the ground with certain acceleration governed by the law of gravitation. Planes soar to the skies by way of law of aerodynamics, and ships float by law of buoyancy.

Human life follows certain principles as well, though less predictive, because the factors involved are too many and complex as human thinking and behaviour would allow. But then there are certain universal life principles - the same principles used by great and successful people - that you need to apply that will guide you to your life journey to Best Life™.

The 9 Core Principles of Living on Purpose

Purposeful living operates on universal core principles to guide you in living the life you wanted, to do the things that matter most to your goals achievement. These core principles will greatly increase your chance of success to achieve what you love to do, get paid for what you are good at, and find satisfaction and meaning in life by serving the needs of others.

The 9 core principles are:

Core Principle #1: Intentional Living

Life will give you many options along the way, both opportunities and trials. Every decision counts and each will either take you either closer to or farther away from your destination. To identify opportunities and respond to trials you need to be intentional, to be conscious of what you really want to achieve in life, to enable you to do things on purpose, find meaning, and experience satisfaction.

Core Principle #2: Spirit Guided

Every navigation system – whether land, sea or air – uses a compass to keep a vehicle along a predefined path to reach its destination. Wherever it is, the compass always points to the True North. Living a life on purpose considers the spirit within as its compass, pointing to the True North, the immovable and unchanging point of reference to everything internal and external. Your Best Life™ will constantly seek guidance from the spirit to align yourself to your life purpose.

Core Principle #3: Values Driven

Values are what a person judges as important in his life. In most cases, these underlying values are latent in the subconscious. His attitude and behavior follow those beliefs and values, without being conscious of it. Best Life™ will elicit your own values to your consciousness, making them clear in definition and rank of importance. Best Life™ recognizes that your life will go through several stages that have its different degree of importance in your human wants, needs, and expectations, hence the necessity of aligning these changing values to your unchanging spirit.

Core Principle #4: Positive Mindset

Life will always throw curved balls at you. There will always be naysayers who’ll oppose your decisions, and ultimately your progress. You’ve grown up carrying baggage of limiting beliefs. You will take risks, win some and fail some (or shall I say, learn some). Living an intentional life requires you to identify, assess, and eliminate your limiting beliefs and replace them with positive beliefs to continuously create a positive mindset. Regardless of the situation, you have to maintain a positive mindset in order to continue your journey in life, to win your daily victories, to achieve your goals, and to fulfill your life purpose.

Core Principle #5: Living With a Purpose

You were not born for nothing. You don’t just exist to survive; you live to thrive where you are planted. You are called to serve a unique assignment. Every Japanese believes that every person has an ‘ikigai,’ a Japanese word for reason for living. You have to intentionally find your specific life purpose to carry out your unique assignments based on your passion, mission, profession, and vocation.

Core Principle #6: Goal Based Action

A dream is just a fantasy without you taking any action to reach it. Best Life™ ensures you are taking action through a process of setting and achieving your goals. It abhors laziness, procrastination, and over-analysis. While it sees perfection as an aim to achieve incremental improvement, it does not wait for the situation to become perfect in order to spring to action, rather it starts acting based on available facts and towards the right direction which is your goal.

Core Principle #7: Passion for Excellence

You must passionately pursue excellence in everything whether it is an action or a result. It is consistently finding ways to be better in every area of life. Like the competitive athlete, Best Life™ pushes you to raise your standard of excellence higher and higher. Each step in your journey takes you closer to your destiny – oftentimes like hiking to the top of a mountain – you just can’t step back lower.

Core Principle #8: Balanced Living

Whether you like it or not you are assigned or assumed different roles and responsibilities in the society. You may be a wife, a mother, a co-worker, a community leader, all at the same time. You are also a tripartite being, composed of a physical body, a mind/soul, and a spirit; therefore you have to take care of your physical health, mental and emotional well-being, and spiritual needs in order to support yourself and your multiple roles in this world. With these various roles and needs, you have to strike balance in every area of your life according to priorities, to achieve your dreams and to live your purpose.

Core Principle #9: Synergistic

The animal kingdom follows a food chain ecosystem. Except for the apex predator, everyone is both a prey and a predator. Preys avoid the predators to survive. Predators need to hunt for preys, and at the same time avoid the higher predators, to survive. Unfortunately this system is adapted in the world of humans. They say it’s a “dog eat dog” world. But Best Life™ does not subscribe to both. It will not ask you to take advantage of others, and it will not allow you to fall victim to others as well. Rather it facilitates mutual co-dependency among men and women aiming to create, support, and sustain an environment where the self can achieve the optimum life possible, be accepting of others’ support, as well as serving others to achieve their own optimum life.

Keep these core principles in your heart and you'll surely live your Best Life™ ever.
